European Workshop: Critical Perspectives on Police and Civil Society in Democracies
In January 2026, the network was launched with a two-day workshop on critical perspectives on policing and society in democracies. The aim of the workshop was to foster collaboration and critical dialogue among early-career researchers working on policing, civil society, and democratic governance. Twelve early-career scholars from across Europe gathered in Copenhagen to present their work and contribute to the development of the network. These scholars have since formed the initial driving force in establishing the network and planning its future activities.
